US Cellular, making money.

According to U.S. Cellular Corp press release, USCellular recorded increase in revenues in 1st quarter of 2007, big improvement over last years result. Operating revenues for Q1 reached $925 million to $945 million. Income is expected at $100 million to $120 million. USCellular attributed the revenue increase to a rise in the number of its wireless subscribers and average revenue per customer going up. Good job US CEllular.

US Cellular gaining strength

With US Cellular just releasing their 2nd quarter results for 2007, we can see that they are quickly making big moves for the future. According to the financials, US Cellular saw huge incomes this year, jumping significantly from last year's points. Service revenues increased a hefty 14.5% since last year, which includes a 77% increase in data service revenues. An even more impressive increase occurred with operating income, which saw an increase of 56.5%. This significant improvement in financial status is largely due to their new strategy to focus on penetrating existing markets, as opposed to growing too fast. According to the President and CEO, John Rooney, US Cellular plans on continuing this strategy for the future, until they can have a stable enough customer base to be able to expand further nationwide. More news should be on the way, and looking at US Cellular's recent financial history we can definitely expect to hear more from them very soon.

JD Power and Associates recent rankings put Virgin Mobile USA as the #1 prepaid wireless service provider for customer satisfaction in the US. According to JD Power, Virgin Mobile excelled over their competition in many different aspects of their business, including cost of service, service plan variety, and account management. This is the second year in a row that they have been honored with this title, so they must be doing something right. Hopefully we can continue to see great service from Virgin in the future.
